GetElectric.NG ("GetElectric", "we", "us") operates an electricity purchasing platform that lets you buy prepaid tokens across Nigerian distribution companies (DISCOs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data.
Who is responsible for your data?
GetElectric is the data controller for personal data processed through our website, mobile app, and APIs. Our Data Protection Officer (DPO) can be reached at email.
Personal data we collect
- Identity & contact: name, phone number, email, username
- Service data: meter number, DISCO, address, feeder/tariff metadata from meter verification, purchase and token history
- Payment data: transaction references, wallet activity, virtual account details
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, cookies, activity logs
- Referral data: referral codes and invited-user relationships
Why we process your data and our lawful basis
We process your data to create your account, verify meters, deliver tokens, process payments, provide support, prevent fraud, and comply with law. Lawful bases include performance of contract, legal obligation, legitimate interest, and consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies).
Your rights under the NDPA
You may access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, or port your data where applicable.

Data breaches
If a breach affects your rights, we will notify you and the NDPC as required by law, including within 72 hours of a notifiable breach.
This is the default template. Admins can replace it by editing appPrivacyPolicy in App Config.
Data we share with third parties
To provide electricity purchases, we must share some of your personal data with trusted partners. We do not sell your data.
